Lessons in Love
What my step-children have taught me:
Our capacity for love is enormous. Theirs was big enough to embrace me, a stranger only 6 years ago. Mine was big enough to allow me to accept them as my own.
Their love for me may not be unconditional but it is unchallenged.
Love is expressed in different ways; sometimes just being asked to spend time with one of them is the simplest but most powerful expression.
When they’re home and all around the feeling of love can be overwhelming.
Love really can break down barriers and heal old wounds.
The more love you give, the more you get back.
Because we love each other, we can laugh at each other.
